![]() The Tidewater Singers have been under the direction of William Thomas since 2009. Founded in 1999 The Tidewater Singers were founded as "Bach to the Future." Later the group was renamed Tidewater Chamber Singers and then Tidewater Singers. The ensemble auditions new members every summer and is made up of 25 to 30 trained singers. Our mission is to bring quality choral music to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Repertory ranges from renaissance motets and madrigals to a cappella jazz tunes to major choral works performed with orchestra. Major choral works conducted by William Thomas include: Thompson's "The Peaceable Kingdom," Ola Gjeilo's "Sunrise Mass," Lauridsen's "Lux Aeterna," Faure's "Requiem" and John Rutter's "Magnificat" and "Requiem."
